Reci is a social recipe-sharing app where users can post recipes, review what they’ve cooked, and follow friends to stay updated on what’s hot in their kitchens.
Reci was a project developed for CS 348 at the University of Waterloo.
It was a fun fullstack app to develop in a group with my uni friends. I mostly worked on the database and backend systems, especially focused on authentication using JWTs.
Reci ended up becoming the seed for Cookd.ca, a real social cooking app we kept building after the course. The core idea of sharing what we cook with friends grew into Cookd.ca’s public feed, profiles, recipe discovery, streaks, and social cooking loops.
